Our intake process includes two separate appointments: an initial consultation and an initial treatment. Plan for 90-120 minutes per session. The first session is a deep-dive into your health history, fertility journey, and goals. This session includes fertility education, abdominal palpation, tongue and pulse assessment, and instruction on self-abdominal massage. We’ll also review any relevant labs or make recommendations if additional testing is needed. In the second session, we review your personalized treatment plan together and begin your hands-on care, including acupuncture and Maya Abdominal Therapy.


Return Sessions

As an established patient, we’ll continue working together through comprehensive treatments designed to support your fertility journey. Return visits (60-75 minutes) are fully customized to your needs and goals. As an established patient, we’ll continue working together through comprehensive treatments designed to support your fertility journey. Return visits (60-75 minutes) are fully customized to your needs and goals. In addition to acupuncture, your return TCM session may include cupping, low-level light therapy, moxibustion, electrical stimulation, and/or gua sha—at no additional charge. Your follow-up Maya Abdominal Therapy session may be booked separately and will include both the anterior and posterior techniques. All our treatments work together to optimize reproductive health and overall well-being.

Dr. Monica Dayanand is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Texas, as well as in California, and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and certified through the NCCAOM to practice acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, including herbal medicine. Her specialties include men and women’s fertility and reproductive health, pregnancy, birth and postnatal care. 

Dr. Monica has always had a deep appreciation for the human body and its fascinating possibilities, and she integrates her knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology with ancient holistic therapies to develop individualized treatments for physical, mental, and emotional balance, flexibility of body and mind, and optimal overall wellbeing for those with whom she has the opportunity to work.

Dr. Monica holds a 4-year master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from ACAOM in Houston, Texas, with whom she participated in a month-long externship training in the gynecology and pediatric departments at the top Chinese medicine hospital in Tianjin, China in 2015. She finished her doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from ACTCM in San Francisco in 2019 with special training in perinatal and reproductive medicine and worked extensively shadowing midwives, seasoned acupuncturists, and pediatricians. She is a certified postpartum doula, is trained in infant massage, and is a certified fertility, prenatal and postnatal yoga instructor. When she is not working, you may find her spending time with her husband and/or taking care of their 4-year-old son, 1-year-old daughter, and beloved fur baby. In her free time, she may be out trying to catch a wave on the nearby Texas island of Galveston, or in the jungles of Costa Rica, as well as flipping around with friends in the AcroYoga community.
